چکیده
Despite the well-acknowledged link between autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and epilepsy, prevalence significance of electroencephalogram (EEG) changes in epileptic children absence clinical seizures remains underdetermined. Aim. The primary goal this study is to report EEG abnormalities non-epileptic or pre-epileptic autistic children, investigate their association with a set pre-determined risk factors, speculate on significance, direct future research efforts. Methods. A case-based sampling for diagnosed was done. Only patients without history epilepsy those under age 15 were included. All underwent an study. Children abnormal findings (case group) compared age-matched controls normal using factors. Results. total 38 enrolled our study, whom 31.6% (n=12) had readings. Of those, presence following noted – each being present two patients: frontal sharp waves, slowing, temporal bitemporal generalized Frontal intermittent rhythmic delta activity (FIRDA). Patients more likely have positive family and/or autism, odd ratios 28.05, 12.62, accordingly. Conclusion. Aberrant brain connectivity patterns been observed ASD patients, support these findings. Furthermore, we believe that gender, mother's age, mode delivery, speech could all impact results. However, needed expand

MRI Findings in 77 Children with Non-Syndromic Autistic Disorder
BACKGROUND The clinical relevance of MR scanning in children with autism is still an open question and must be considered in light of the evolution of this technology. MRI was judged to be of insufficient value to be included in the standard clinical evaluation of autism according to the guidelines of the American Academy of Neurology and Child Neurology Society in 2000. However, this statement...

The electroencephalogram (EEG), which allows the pictorial display of abnormal cerebral activity, is central to the identification and even the classification of a number of neurological disorders in both the paediatric and the adult population. This is well demonstrated in the identification and classification of the epilepsies and epilepsy syndromes (1,2). In contrast, the role of the EEG in ...

Objective: The relationship between cognitive functions, EEG findings and epilepsy in patiens with ADHD is controversial. The aim of this study is to determine the frequency of EEG abnormality and its relationship with clinical findings of children with ADHD. Methods: A total of 434 children’s sleep and/or awake EEG who received the diagnosis of ADHD were taken regardless of seizure history. Re...
متن کاملPsychogenic Non-Epileptic Spells in Children
Psychogenic non-epileptic spells are a form of conversion disorder which is characterized by “seizure like episodes” often misdiagnosed as epilepsy. These are frequently seen in adults with female predominance but occur also in children. The gold standard, for a definitive diagnosis, is inpatient video-EEG monitoring in a specialized epilepsy monitoring unit to capture these episodes. There is ...

Some studies have reported the importance of electroencephalography (EEG) as a method for investigating abnormal parameters in psychiatric disorders. Different findings in time and frequency domain analysis with regard to central nervous system arousal during acute panic states have already been obtained. This study aimed to systematically review the EEG findings in panic disorder (PD), discuss...
